15th September 2008

At the moment I am writing this entry from Malibu Apartments in Costa Adeje in South of Tenerife. It's my first time to the island and my first impression is it is so different but then the same in a strange way to Gran Canaria.

if you read this before I edit it, it's because Im quickly typing so not to forget the interesting things I have done here.

Yesterday we went to Mount Teide almost to the top and then we have been to various restaurants for evening meals.

Marios near San Eugenio C.C was really nice, good value I had chicken breast in mushroom sauce and jacket Potato.

the next night we ate in Kashmir Indian Restaurant I asked for Aloo Ghobi but got a vindaloo-----owch!

Mount Teide, what can i say fantastic. It takes your breathe away quite literally! I have taken so many pictures its unbelievable. There is a cafe at the top of the hill and then the cable carts to get to the top.

Los Gigantes is amazing! Along the coast and I would say its a mixture between Mogan and something else. There are small restaurants along the harbour and a nice place to get cakes I can't remember the name now but I had apple pie there was also chocolate fudge cake and more. In fact looking around most places have all the popular sticky pudding type foods. One thing I havent seen is a Tapas Restaurant............hmm.

The Greek Corner---- ncie if you like Greek Food. It was my first Greek meal and I ordered Mousaka. But 10 out of 10 for atmosphere and happy staff.

Malibu Apartments themselves are basic accomodation, one pool bar...Splash Bar.....a pleasant reception area, small shop. Nice mixture of locals and english speaking people.

Thats all for now Im going for breakfast in Malibu something....a nice girl called Noellia works there, food lovely breakfast costs just 2.90. Food the otehr morning and drinks for 6 people just 20euros!!! You cant beat that!

See you all soon!

I have been the local Avon lady now for over 3 years. There are lots of nice gift ideas plus nice things for yourselves including some great exfoliating body scrubs (to make sure you get that tan onto nice soft skin) deodorants, foot pampering lotions and creams and much more...

If you are interested in browsing an Avon book please let me know or if you have any questions, please just pm me.

Virgin del Carmen Celebrations July 2008

Noticed a poster in Arguineguin the other day saying the street parties for the Virgin del Carmen will be:

Arguineguin-11th July - 19th July
Mogan - 20th July -29th July

im not sure if I got the dates totally correct and will have to check again, but thats all I could remember off the top of my head.

Virgin del Carmen is the protector of the sea and many small fishing villages and towns celebrate this. There will be fiestas and celebrations starting in Arguineguin and then moving onto Mogan, each ending with my favourite part, "Bajada de la rama" which is basically "Take down the leaf" but is when the locals take to the street and sing "Agua Aguita la gente esta sequita" Water, water the people are dry. Which then turns into the biggest water fight you have ever seen, in which people are hosed down and make a procession through the streets.
If you take part in it this year please upload pictures or let us know how your fiesta was

Last night was a fantastic atmosphere as the final of euro 2008 came to an end with Spain beating Germany 1-0. There were fireworks exploding all over Puerto Rico and Arguineguin, car horns were beeping and people gathered in Arguineguin to watch the match in the Plaza on a big screen.

Not a big football fan myself, but the atmosphere was electric and filled with excitement so it was easy to join in with all the fun. In Spain it is normal to gather round the nearest fountain for celebration so if you saw people jumping in the roundabout fountain in Puerto Rico or the Whales Tale at Arguineguin I hope you weren't too shocked

So all you football haters you now have a rest from football before it all starts again, so your turn to take control of the tv again for a while heheh

There are plenty of different recipes out there just do a google search for how to make cocktails. I prefer to make my own and just have fun.

Grab some vodka slosh it in a glass with ice, then add some orange juice, lemon juice/peach juice and add some grenadine for colour.

Have fun :)

I was in the big Supermarket Alcampo in Telde at the weekend and I was suprised to spot Tresseme hair products.

I remember buying them in the UK at one time, they are salon sized shampoos conditioners and most importantly heat protector sprays.

They were about 6euros each but well worth it as they are massive bottles and well worth the money.

Im hoping they are still in stock when I go again, as I only bought the heat spray which is amazing for when your using straigteners by the way.:p

Stay tuned for more tips

:p-cuteek-:p

NOTE: Also spotted Tresseme products in Mercadona in El Tablero too a bit cheaper
