Smile 3 Kings Parade 5th January 2010 Arguineguin, Gran Canaria

On the 5th January 2010 there will be a Cabalgata de Reyes/3 Kings Parade in Arguineguin starting at 17.30hrs from Avenida de Los Canarios....

This is a very nice parade and if you haven't been before make sure you do. The 3 Kings ride horses/sometimes camels through the village of Arguineguin and throw sweets to the crowds.

You can follow them all the way down to the Plaza de Mercadillo where the Arguineguin market normally takes place....and you will see that the festive season is still going here in Gran Canaria....

Well I just got back in from the 3 Kings Parade in Arguineguin, it was really nice...I have got loads of pics so once I have sorted through them all they will be uploaded into the main sites gallery I am sure I also have some video footage too, which needs editing.

There were many people lining the streets and catching the hard boiled sweets :s that the kings threw....more like missiles lol but all good fun....although Baltazar was having a hard time on his horse...

There were a drumming band, fire throwers, stilty men, and a unicycle person and a truck full of kids throwing sweets.....it was really atmospheric and pretty with all the christmas window displays/lights on as we passed the shops (which are open til late tonight don't forget!)

Yep, according to my little pamphlet thingy from Mogan town hall the 3 Kings Parade for Arguineguin is on:

Tuesday 5th January 2010 @ 5.30pm
Starting from Avenida Los Canarios and will proceed down to the market square in Arguineguin.

Most people stand near to C.C Ancora or sit in a local bar til it's time, I recommend "Center Cafe" the purpley colour bar/restaurant next door to the arcade if it's open. Or Mandy's Den up the stairs from the main entrance.

Another nice place to wait is, "Bar Piporro" by Playa Las Marañuelas but if you want the excitement of seeing it from the start and following it down wait near C.C Ancora.

I can't wait hehe
